HUGS is an
acronym for Hospitality, Ushers, and
Greeters.
The role of
Greeters in the life of the church is to provide
the welcoming, smiling faces that receive
everyone at the entry to the church. Our
purpose, as part of this fellowship of
believers, is to be the first to cultivate
warmth and acceptance of each visitor to our
services.
We offer
necessary information, for example, directing
parents and their children to Children's
Ministry, delivering the current week's church
bulletin, and offering other assistance,
according to the need.
Ushers do
more than collect the tithes and offerings
during worship services. Our function is also to
assure the safety of children and adults alike,
providing security in the entry and traffic
areas, and attentiveness to situations that
might arise. It is our hope that our activity
complements the order of the church service
without distracting others as we do it.
Hospitality
extends its own aroma of grace through the
church, providing coffee and refreshments at the
brief fellowship time we offer at a given moment
during the service.
In all, HUGs desires to provide the same
encouragement to your spirit that hugs are meant
to provide, physically. We want to be
encouragers of the Body of Christ through
service.
