VCFGP senior high is
designed to provide an environment for young men
and
women in high school to develop a
Christ-like character. VCFGP senior high is
also designed to provide a place for our youth
to create a spiritual community and invite
others to hear Christ’s gospel. VCFGP senior
high also provides an opportunity for these
young men and women to engage in local mercy and
evangelistic outreaches to serve our community
and to share Christ’s good news.
Senior High
develops Christ-like character by addressing
major issues that affect our young men and
women today. We tackle issues such as how God
views relationships and what he expects from us
in relationships. We explore the best ways to
effectively evangelize to others around us who
do not know Jesus. We look at the effects, both
positive and negative, of secular music on our
spiritual lives. We also study many other
topics such as consistency, prayer and purity to
develop Christ-like character.
Senior High
provides a place to create spiritual community
and to invite friends to hear Christ’s gospel.
We believe that Jesus has given us the authority
(Matthew 28:19-20) to bring the good news to our
friends. We encourage all of our young men and
women to bring others who do not know Christ so
that they can be given that chance to choose for
themselves. We also create community by praying
for one another not only when we meet but also
during the week as well. We develop community
by preaching consistency and purity in our
relationships.
Senior High
provides opportunities for our young men and
women to reach the community through mercy and
evangelistic outreaches. We just recently have
begun to organize outreaches to the youth center
here in Portland. We also give our youth the
opportunity to participate in cross cultural
outreach through our annual trip to Mexico.
Potential outreaches for senior high include the
soup kitchen, the root cellar and street
ministry. We continue to grow and are very
excited about what God is doing with the young
men and women in this church. |
