History in
Worship
I think it was sometime late 2001 or early
in 2002 that I started playing guitar in
our worship band. Sunday AM's continue to be
the best "gig" of the week for me! Music (
of all kinds) has so
many effective/appropriate uses in our daily
lives, yet there's nothing that quite stirs
my musical soul like playing worship to God-
particularly in a Vineyard church.
Favorite Songs
They change, but here are a few that
continue to captivate me:
Isn't She Lovely- Stevie Wonder
Man of no Reputation- Rich Mullins and the
Ragamuffin Band
The Greatest Song of All- Phillips Craig and
Dean
Man of His Word- Bob Carlisle
History in
Music:
I been playing guitar and singing since I
was a teen and professionally since I left
high school. Here are some websites that
show the groups I currently perform with.
Some of these acts have released CD's.
Plus Johnny- me and a HS buddy ( still! )
playing classic rock songs from our glory
days
You mean there's supposed to be more to life
than music? Ok... Hand me that 9 iron would
you? And BTW, real men don't take
mulligans...
Family
1 beautiful wife, 2 daughters, 1 cat, 6
guitars and one set of Ping Eye2's
Work
Humming and strumming is my fulltime career
as well. As they say, "good work, if you
can get it. " Amongst the many things I do/
have done in the music field (besides
performing) are: Voice overs for
commercials, singing jingles, composing
theme music for a TV show ( People, Places
and Plants- currently seen nationally on HGTV)
Recording and producing CD's, recording
backing music for theater shows, recording
an audio book, and performing on other
artists CD's.
Favorite Thing
I've Done
It might have been playing for 20,000 people
at Olympic stadium in Moscow. Or, it could
have been hearing Peter Yarrow (of Peter
Paul and Mary) sing along with one of my
songs. Or even singing "America
the Beautiful" at Merrill Auditorium right
after 9-11.. However, it was most
definitely
discovering the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Truly, it is the "pearl of great price" that
changed my life.
